Digital TV Transition coming in 2009

You may have noticed new articles and television commercials discussing the government-mandated Digital TV transition.  Beginning on February 17, 2009, analog broadcasts of television signals are going away and will be replaced with only digital signals.  How will this affect you?  Will your TV still work?  Do you have to get new equipment?

As a customer of Nortex's Cable Service, we are doing the work for you.  As local broadcasters change to digital, Nortex will convert that signal for you and nothing changes at your home.  Therefore, you will not have to do anything.  We will receive the digital signal and convert it so that your TV will continue to work.  In addition, we will take that same digital signal and use it to enhance our digital and high definition channel offerings.

However if you are not a customer of Nortex Cable TV and receive your signal from an antenna, you will need to purchase a receiver from a retailer that will convert the digital signal to analog if you have an analog television set.

If you would like more information about the DTV transition, go to www.getreadyfordigitaltv.com or www.dtv.gov.  Or if you would lke us to explain it, you can call us at 940/759-2251.
