| Each year since the mid 1970's, Conference 1A and 2A schools around the North Texas area have participated in the "North Texas Honor Band". This organization was established to give students in smaller band programs a chance to participate in a larger ensemble. Many directors use the NTHB audition to set their concert order or as a pre-audition for REGION BAND. NTHB also allows "home school" students to audition. |
| Students qualifying for the band participate in an all-day clinic with a well-known Texas bandmaster, culminating with a public concert performance in the evening following the all-day clinic. Students are presented with a commemorative patch to mark their achievement. Professional CD recordings of the concert are available via "Probst Audio" and commemorative plaques and t-shirts are available via "Music T's". |
| ENTRY FEE: $7.00 per student (late entries $10 per student) ENTRY DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 11, 2005 (Friday) AUDITION DATE: November 19, 2005(Saturday) Tryouts to begin at 10:00 am (brief directors meeting immediately prior to start of auditions) AUDITION SITE: Aubrey High School Clinic/Concert Date: January 28, 2006 (Saturday) Clinic/Concert Site: Princeton High School Auditorium ENTRY PROCEDURE: Send an email to NTHB and include the STUDENT'S NAME and INSTRUMENT. If a student is trying out on more than one instrument, list the student for each instrument. The entry fee is PER ENTRY! (Example: 8 students @ $7 ea. = $56) |
